Examination of tissue specific thyroid hormone action using THAI mouse model

Together with the Molecular Cell Metabolism Laboratory, we have developed a transgenic mouse model, the Thyroid Hormone Action Indicator (THAI) mouse.
In this model, the luciferase mRNA or protein level is used as an indicator of thyroid hormone action. Using this model, we can determine the changes of tissue specific thyroid hormone action in live animals with in vivo imaging or in tissue samples by determination of luciferase activity or by measurement of luciferase mRNA level.
