Laser capture microdissection
Friday, 19 May, 2023
To study gene expression of multiple genes in small brain regions or in a certain cell type, we perform laser capture microdissection (LCM).
Using a Zeiss PALM Microbeam LCM system, we can cut certain brain nuclei or certain cell types based on their special anatomical localization (tanycytes) or based on their fluorescent protein content from thin cryostat sections. The samples are catapulted into special tubes. These samples can be used for RNA, DNA or protein isolation.
