Gene expression analysis using TaqMan quantitative PCR

To determine how the gene expression of specific neuronal populations or peripheral tissues is influenced by physiological or pathological conditions, genetic manipulations or pharmacological treatments, we use TaqMan quantitative PCR.
This method allows the determination of changes of gene expression even in brain micropunches or neurons/glial cells isolated by laser capture microdissection.
