At the ELTE Conference of Scientific Students in Biology, the jury of the Behavioural and Neurobiology Section recognized the presentation of Emese Herczku by nominating it for participation in the 38th National Scientific Students’ Conference.

Emese Herczku, our TDK student, persented her research findings at the HUPHAR 2025 conference in Mátraháza. Her poster was titled: " Development of Blood-Brain Penetrating Pharmacons to Target P2Y12-Receptors in Parkinsonism". Supervisors: Prof. Dr. Beáta Sperlágh, Dr. András Iring.

This prestigious event provided a professionally inspiring experience and gave new momentum to our reserch in the field of neurological disorders!

Zsuzsanna Tamara Gál, a member of our group and TDK student, participated in the 37th National Scientific Students' Conference held at the University of Szeged from April 15-17, 2025. She received an honorable mention from the jury in the Biology Section, Neurobiology and Neurophysiology division. We would like to congratulate Zsuzsanna on her excellent performance!

Leader of our group gave a lecture, and 3 of the researchers presented a poster at the European Purine Meeting of 2024 organized for the second time in Ferrara, Italy. The conference provided a great opportunity to expand scientific knowledge, to share ideas and suggestions as well as to build scientific relationship during the 3 days.

Zsuzsanna Tamara Gál, our TDK student, participated at the joint conference of the Hungarian Physiological Society and the Hungarian Society of Microcirculation and Vascular Biology as an invited speaker, in TDK students’ section held in Debrecen on 29-31 May, 2024. The conference invitation was a special prize, which she won at the 2023 ELTE TDK Conference. We wish to congratulate Zsuzsanna on her excellent achievement!

We are thrilled to announce that Lumei Huang, our dedicated PhD student, has successfully defended her thesis, "The regulatory effect of purinergic P2X7Rs on the excitatory neurotransmission and the mouse model of schizophrenia."

We are thrilled to announce that Paula Mut Arbona, our dedicated PhD student, has successfully defended her thesis, "The Role of the P2X7 Receptor in Neuronal Development and Implications for Schizophrenia Animal Models." Her research has earned her the highest mark.  Join us in congratulating Paula on this remarkable achievement, marking a moment of happiness for our lab community.

At the conference Gál Zsuzsanna Tamara’s lecture at the Cell biology and physiology section has won the first prize as well as a nomination for the 37^th National Scientific Student Conference. She received the special award of the Hungarian Physiological Society.

Our TDK student, Fruzsina Maácz, MSc in Biology, represented our group at the National Scientific Student Conference on 25 April.

Her presentation was titled: Effects of sumatriptan on P2X7 purinergic receptor-mediated signaling in the amphetamine-induced acute mania mouse model

She received the Special Prize of the Neurobiology Section for her presentation, and we congratulate her warmly for her achievement! We wish her all the best for her upcoming state examination and her PhD application, and we hope to welcome her as a "full member" of our group from September!

On March 14, 2023, Pofessor Dr. Beáta Sperlágh received the prestigious Széchenyi Prize in the Dome of the National Assembly in recognition of her outstanding scientific activity.

This year's first publication is by our PhD student Paula Mut Arbona, who is one step closer to obtaining her PhD.

Four researchers from our group participated in this year's FENS 2022 conference in Paris. 

The titles of their presented posters are:

- Flóra  Gölöncsér: Inflammatory singaling in amphetamine-induced mouse mania model, the role of P2X7 receptor

- András Iring: The dualistic role of the purinergic P2Y12-receptor in MPTP-induced Parkinsonism in mice

- Paula  Mut Arbona: Dul role of P2X7 receptor during physiological brain development and dendritogenesis

- Dorottya Szabó: Blocking the P2X7-NLRP3-IL-1β pathway in the maternal immune activation model prevents autism-like phenotype in male mouse offspring
