Secondary school students visit President Tamás Sulyok
Although there are many different types of news on our website, in a certain respect they are all the same. The news has something to do with the work of our institute and the people who work here. That is the case now. Emil Koplányi, a student of Imre Kalló, was among the high school students who were welcomed at the Sándor Palace. What's more, Emil was one of the three students who were able to present their work.
Emil Koplányi, a student of the Endocrine Neurobiology Research Group of the Könyves Kálmán High School in Budapest, won one of the grand prizes of the XXIV Carpathian Basin Conference of Scientific Student Circles (TUDOK 2024), held in Kaposvár in April 2024, with his presentation entitled "Glycine and Learning" in the "Theoretical and Experimental Medicine" section.
There is a news item about this on our website, but it needs to be added now!
The first prize winners and grand prize winners of the competition had the honor of being received by the President of the Republic, Tamás Sulyok, at his residence in the Sándor Palace.
Emil, one of the three winners selected, was also able to present his results in the beautiful palace.
It's true that the biggest prize, to be a guest at this year's Nobel Prize ceremony, was awarded not to him but to a young girl from the field of economics, but no one should be discouraged. If he has that marshal's baton Napoleon mentioned, in his pocket, he might get there one day by another right, by achieving truly world-beating results.
Let us wish him luck, perseverance, and great discoveries!
